Junior Lessons

Tone Leisure operates their swimming lessons in-line with the Amateur Swimming Association's "National Plan for Teaching Swimming".

The National Plan has been developed to provide a template which is a standard comprehensive, integrated and progressive teaching programme based on technical and educational principles. The Tone Leisure swimming lesson programme aims to:

  • Meet the recognised national swimming teaching standards for performance
  • Create fun & learning experiences for all
  • Encourage progression for pupils based on achievement
  • Develop a wide range of skills which takes students to the next level
  • Focus on confidence activities early on in the programmes
  • Develop learning through continuous development of core skills
  • Identify the correct standards of skill performance
  • Assess against clearly defined goals

Tone Leisure swimming lesson programmes cover eight levels of development, ranging from 3 year olds who have never swum before, to developing confidence in the water, right through to competition level swimmers. No matter what age or level we can develop skills for any individual in any stroke. Group swimming lessons are for ten weeks but run continuously for 50 weeks of the year, within those 50 weeks we close for Bank Holidays.
