Frequently Asked Questions

How often do I need to use the centres to make the membership worthwhile?

If you use the centres more than once a week, then the membership scheme will be good value for you.

How do I join as a member?

All you need to do is fill out a membership form and pay your initial payment. You can print off a form online and take it in to reception or ask for a form from reception.

Do you have family memberships?

Yes, we offer discounts for couples and families of 10% off the total, single Direct Debit. You can have adults on different membership types and children on other types too.

Do you have easy payment schemes for children too?

Yes we offer three different childrens memberships - all payable by Direct Debit. So you can book up a swimming lesson course, trampoline course and soccer course, and spread the payments over an easy staged Direct Debit payment scheme.

What if I don't want to pay by Direct Debit?

You can choose to pay annually for all our memberships, or you can pay as you go.

Do I need to pay a joining fee?

Yes. During most months of every year we charge a nominal joining fee (for administration and service costs). The joining fee is only £10 or £20 (depending on membership) If you cancel your membership you will be required to pay the joining fee again.

How do I cancel my membership?

All you need to do is contact 01823 356311 and ask to speak to someone in our Membership Services team. You will be required to send a letter of notification to cancel your membership to: Tone Leisure, The Deane House, Belvedere Road, Taunton. TA1 HE. If you are a "Committed" members on our 9 month contract you will need to wait until the end of the contract period.

Can I use all the centres with my membership?

Yes you can! What great value! However, Totnes Pavilion in South Hams is now a seperate scheme.

Do I have to be a member to use the centres?

No - absolutely not. If you wish to "pay as you go" then that is fine with us. We want you to get the best value you can - so if you use the centres regularly then a membership may be the most cost effective for you.

Can I "Freeze" or suspend my membership?

Yes you can. But only in the case of illness or if you are working out of the country. These decisions are at the discretion of the Senior Management team.

How can I get a discounted membership?

We offer discounted membership fees for over 60's, Students and those on "means tested" low income. There are also discounts available if you work for certain organisations. These organsiations have organised "Corporate" discounts due to large numbers of members.

How can I claim the low income discount?

You will need to bring proof of eligibility to reception with you to gain "Access to Leisure" (means tested) low income status. Proof of eligibility includes; Income support, Pension Credit, Housing Benefit(not single occupancy), Working Tax Credit (income less than £15,050) ot Job Seekers Allowance (income based) We require proof of receipt in at least one of these criteria.
