FREE SWIMMING INITIATIVE

The free swimming initiative is a Government funded scheme that started on 1st April 2009, lasting 24 months. After registering on the scheme (£1 fee and proof of age required) participants can attend specific swimming sessions free of charge. These sessions are indicated on pool timetables available from leisure centre reception.

If pool demand is high, time restrictions will apply to your swim - a one hour session.

Under 16s are not eligible for FREE swimming during normal school hours. FREE swimming sessions start at 3.30pm on these days.

FREE swimming sessions are only available if the swimming session is accessible to all members of the public, so sessions which exclude certain groups will not have free swimming applied e.g. 50+ swimming, junior inflatable sessions etc.

FREE swimming is not offered on any school "Inset" days.

Child admissions policy still applies (see under Facilities/ Swimming Pool)

For more information contact centre reception.
