Pricing Policy

What does Concession mean?

We have two levels of concessionary Buzz Cards. One level is for customers on low incomes and in receipt of benefits (Access to Leisure). The second level is a discount for full time students, those under 16 or for those customers who are over 60. These cards enable you to "pay and play" at our facilities at a discounted rate. Concessionary rates apply to pay as you go activities and facilities listed on the current price list. Concessionary rates do not apply to membership packages. You need to be a resident of Taunton Deane to qualify or a resident of South Hams. You will be required to provide proof of residency via a utility bill or some evidence of your address.

How do I qualify for Access to Leisure?

If you are in receipt of the following benefits you can apply for an Access to Leisure card for yourself or your dependents:

  • Income Support
  • Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit)
  • Child Tax Credit with or without working tax credit (with total household income below £15,276)
  • Working Tax Credit only, including disability or severe disability element (with total household income under £15,276)
  • Job Seeker's Allowance (Income Based)
  • Income related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit (not single occupancy)
Please note that Access to Leisure is not available at all sites.

How do I apply for an Access to Leisure Card?

You will be required to complete an application form for each member of the family applying.

  • If you are in receipt of income support you will be required to supply a current letter from the Department of Work and Pensions, shown to us every 6 months to update your eligibility
  • If you are in receipt of Guarantee Pension Credit you will be required to supply a current notification letter from the Pension, Disability and Carers Service
  • If you are in receipt of Child Tax Credit/Working Tax Credit you will be required to supply NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate and a current notification letter from HM Revenue and Customs
  • For Job Seekers allowance (income based), Income related Employment and Support Allowance - we will need to see Award Letters
  • Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit - we will need to see Local Council Award Letters
  • For Child dependants you will be required to bring Child Benefit documentation containing proof of address.
  • For child dependants the award letter or notification must name the dependant and bring a utilities bill containing their name and address.
If you are applying for "Access to Leisure" status we will need to see evidence that you are in receipt of one of the eligible benefits in the form of current letters or notification. The award letter must be less than 3 months old.

What is a Concessionary Buzz Card?

A Concessionary Buzz Card enables customers to benefit from discounted rates for pay and play activities in our centres. These discounts are available for customers who are over 60 years, under 16 years, students in full time education. Concessionary rates do not apply to Membership packages.

How do I apply for a Concessionary Buzz Card?

  • You will be required to complete an application form for each member of the family applying
  • You will need to bring proof of date of birth such as a birth certificate, driving licence, passport or bus pass
  • You will need a letter each year from your education establishment confirming you are enrolled full time for your course of study
In the event of a Buzz Card holder's circumstances changing (over 16 years/no longer a full time student) so that they no longer meet the criteria, it is the Buzz Card holder's responsibility to inform Tone of the change.
