Do Tone Leisure offer unpaid work experience placements or voluntary posts?
Yes. Tone Leisure frequently offer short-term work placements, student placements and voluntary posts within our centres. Due to the nature of these posts we do not advertise these on our website however, if you are interested in this type of work in order to gain valuable experience and skills relevant to the leisure industry, please contact our Centre Managers directly at your chosen location or email your CV and a covering letter outlining your suitability and availability to r.berryman@toneleisure.com
What types of paid contracts do Tone Leisure offer?
As well as full-time contracts, subject to the operational requirements of the centre and the nature of the post, Tone Leisure offers part-time contracts, term time only contracts, fixed-term contracts, secondments and annualised hours contracts. There are also a range of flexible working practices available (see work life balance).
How will I be paid?
All employees and casual workers are paid monthly on the 22nd of each month. You will be paid by electronic BACS transfer into your bank account. All wages are subject to tax, national insurance and other deductions, as relevant. A pay-slip will be provided each month to show how your salary was calculated.
What age restrictions apply to employees at Tone Leisure?
We occasionally have part time posts such as swim helpers and assistant coaches for those aged 13+, however in accordance with the local authority byelaws made under the Children and Young Persons Act 1933 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 restrictions regarding hours of work and duties apply. Please note, for those still at school a permit is required from the LEA to confirm that they are happy for minors to undertake employment. For all other posts, employees may need to work unsupervised at times and therefore a minimum age of 16+ applies. There is no upper age limit for working at Tone Leisure, provided that you maintain the relevant qualifications and capability.
