The Low Income Buzz Card

What is a Low Income Buzz Card?

We have two levels of concessionary Buzz Cards. One level is for customers on low incomes and in receipt of benefits (Access to Leisure).

The second level is a discount for full time students under 22 or for those customers who are over 60 (see overleaf). These cards enable you to use our facilities at a discounted rate for casual "pay and play" activities.

Access to Leisure Buzz Card

If you are in receipt of the following benefits you can apply for an Access to Leisure card for yourself and dependants:

  • Income support
  • Guaranteed Pension Credit
  • Housing Benefit 3 Council Tax Benefit (not single occupancy)
  • Working Tax Credit (with total household income below £16,040)
  • Job Seekers Allowance (income based)
If you are applying for an Access to Leisure Buzz Card we will need to see proof that you are in receipt of benefit. This must be in the form of your award letter, which must be less than 3 months old.

 

Student Buzz Card

"Pay and play" discount is available to all full time who live in South Hams or Taunton Deane during term time or the holidays. There is no limit on age. A card costs £2.00. The following proof is required when applying for a card:

  • Proof of student status
    A letter from school, college or university showing full time student status. We can provide a letter, which must be stamped by college/school establishment and signed by course tutor. We cannot accept student cards
  • Proof of residence in South Hams or Taunton Deane Official letter to your home address e,g, Council Tax bill or utilities bill

 

60 + Discount

Holding a buzz card allows over 60s to benefit from concessionary rates on casual "Pay and play" activities . When applying for a buzz card you will need to bring in the following proof:

  • Award letter for pension
  • Birth Certificate or Passport

 

Applying for a Low Income Buzz Card

Applications can be taken out at our facilities at any time (excludes Totnes Pavilion & Totnes and District Swimming Pool). A card costs £3. Please bring the following documentation when applying for a card:

  • Completed buzz application form for each member of the family applying. Click the link to download the Buzz Application Form.
  • Proof of benefit. Please bring your current award letter from the appropriate agency. This letter must be less than 3 months old and must show that you are currently in receipt of the appropriate benefit.
  • Proof of residence in the South Hams. Official letter to you at your home address such as a Council Tax or utilities bill with your name on it.
  • Child Dependents. If you are applying for a card for your children (aged 15 or under), in addition, please bring Child Benefit documentation containing proof of address.
  • Adult Dependents. Dependents must be named on Award letter, and in addition please bring an official letter containing name and current address (Council Tax bill, gas or electricity bill etc)
