Building Improvements at Totnes Pavilion

Friday, 5 August 2011

Totnes Pavilion and Totnes and District Swimming Pool, managed on behalf of South Hams District Council in partnership with Totnes and District Swimming Pool Association, by social enterprise and charitable trust Tone will shortly be undergoing some long anticipated improvements to changing facilities adjacent to the swimming pool.

Work commences on Monday 8th August for up to 6 weeks in the existing poolside changing rooms where the floors and walls are to be completely retiled, replacing all existing cubicles, ceiling structure, changing the layout, installing new toilets, sinks and mirrors with additional doors to reduce the cold air draft from the front entrance every time the changing room doors are opened.

The men’s changing area will also benefit from a new cubicle and lights are being replaced throughout.

The project will cost in the region of £100,000 and the work is to be carried out by South Hams District Council.

Kevin Teague, Centre Manager for Tone said:

“I’m delighted that this work will be starting soon. We hope that customers will be happy with the alternate changing arrangements we have set up for them during this period, using the Male and Female changing rooms just down the corridor, or those next to the Fitness Suite.”
