Ivor: Tennis Coach

Hello. I'm Ivor, Tennis Coach at Blackbrook Pavilion. My coaching for Tone Leisure is part of a much wider involvement in tennis in the region, which began when I qualified at a level 1 LTA coach back in 1975. 25 or so years later I found my career dedicated to the sport, culminating in my role as County Mini Tennis Coach which began I took on in 2001, my objective to increase the number of kids playing at grass roots level. These days my work for Tone Leisure involves coaching beginners, improvers and also wheelchair players all of which I find very fulfilling.

I enjoy working for Tone Leisure as I feel I am considered a professional in what I do and am seen as reliable by colleagues and customers alike. I consider myself part of a strong team whose members all work to their strengths and support the development of colleagues.

I am also supported by a great manager in Simon Woodhill who ensures great communication and information regarding the fast moving world of Taunton Tennis Club and Tone Leisure. This helps coaches who may only work a few hours a week feel part of the organisation and involved in it's future.
