Olympic Torches coming to Wellsprings and Quayside

Tone and Coca Cola give you the opportunity to carry the Olympic Flame

8,000 inspirational people from around the UK will carry the Olympic Flame as it journeys across the UK. Nominated by someone they know, it will be their moment to shine, inspiring millions of people watching in their community, in the UK and worldwide. For 70 days between 19th May and 27th July the Olympic 2012 torch will be carried across Great Britain. Nominations for torch bearers have now closed, but Coca Cola in partnership with Tone is offering members of the public a chance to taste the feeling of being an Olympic Torch Bearer themselves at Wellsprings Leisure Centre, Taunton on Friday 23rd September from 9.30am – 12.30pm or at Quayside Leisure Centre, Kingsbridge on Friday 30th September from 9.30am – 12.30pm.

Coca Cola, as one of the 2012 partners, will be bringing the Beijing torch from 2008 and the Vancouver torch of 2010. Tone is inviting their members and members of the public to come along and take their own pictures of themselves with these iconic items.

“This may be as close as you are planning to get to the 2012 games, so don’t miss out on the opportunity” said Mark Washington, Taunton contract manager for Tone.  “We hope that Coca Cola will be back next year at another of our sites, but the torches will be here for definite on Friday 23rd September.”
