People in Wellington are being encouraged to walk themselves well with a twice-weekly health walks programme, which will be launched on 4th July. The programme, which is being backed by Tone with the support of volunteers from the local community, is for adults who currently do little or no physical activity and want to get a bit fitter with something simple like walking, in the company of other like-minded people. Melissa McCarthy, Scheme Coordinator said “these walks are going to be great if you want to get a bit fitter without spending too much time and money doing it! With local people leading the way, and the walks taking place in the town itself, I’m sure they’re going to be very popular”.
Details at a glance:
o Short walks ranging from 35 minutes to 1 hour
o Mondays and Thursdays at 10:30
