Ivybridge’s new Feelgood Factory, run by Tone at its leisure centre site, is going yellow on Friday 17th June in support of St Luke’s Hospice.
Feelgood Factory members are asked to support the day by wearing yellow and making a donation in aid of the charity. There will also be the opportunity to take part in a fun session of Belly Dancing being laid on for members only. The two, half-hour sessions will run from 10.15am and 11.15am.
Since its opening on Wednesday 13th April the new club has attracted 83 members, about half of whom attended on a daily basis. The success stories are starting to mount up too. One member has already lost an incredible 64cm (all over body measurement).
Emma Gibson, club supervisor for Tone said:
“I am absolutely delighted with the response we have received in opening this new facility. It has really hit the mark with local residents looking for an alternative to the traditional gym workout.”
“I am also delighted by the progress these ladies are making, although not surprised! I’ve lost 45cm myself”
The benefit of a full body musculo-skeletal workout for those with limited mobility, recovering from injury or overweight can not be underestimated. Ivybridge Health Professionals from local surgeries as well as chiropractors, physiotherapists, organizers from Slimming World and Weight Watchers, together with representatives from South Brent and Plympton surgeries, have all been invited to attend an open evening at the club on Thursday 9th June from 7-8.30pm
This event allows health professionals to see how the equipment works and judge what benefits it could offer to their clients. They will also have the chance to have a go themselves.
