Building Update At Churchill Leisure Centre

We are pleased to announce that building works at Churchill Sports Centre are due to commence on Monday 13^th June and run until Friday 9^th September. £1 million is being jointly invested by North Somerset and Tone in this period. It will be an exciting time and we welcome you to come and visit our Marketing Suite which will be open in July and August.

Some Highlights of the New Churchill Sports Centre

·         The creation of a new fitness room and changing rooms on the first floor

·         A new studio with sprung floor and a multi-function room for various activities including further classes

·         A bright new reception and entrance foyer

·         An amazing 3G Artificial Pitch for football, hockey and touch rugby

Membership

Membership to the new Churchill Sports Centre can be purchased in advance. In July and August we will be offering a limited amount of Founder Memberships at a special discounted rate, which will increase when the new Centre opens fully in September.

Access to current facilities

We shall be open for the duration of the build programme and will endeavour to keep as many existing activities running at the centre. The majority of these will take place in the Sports Hall or Swimming Pool as other areas will be inaccessible.

From Monday 13^th Junethe upper floor and pool viewing gallery will be unavailable but activities will continue in an alternative room on the ground floor.

From Monday 27^th Junethe ground floor including the current gymnasium, squash courts and surrounding corridors will not be available during the building works.

Limited Pool Hours 4^th July-15^th July

The pool will be unavailable until 4pm weekdays between 4^th July – 15^th July. For this two week period the pool will be closed for activities prior to this time while strengthening works takes place to the changing room ceiling. Please note that the changing rooms will be closed at all times during this 2 week period and swimmers will need to change in the sportshall changing room and walk the 5 metres outside from our front door to the poolside fire exit to access the pool. Please ensure you have suitable footwear to allow for this.

Full details of the building works will be posted on our display boards and we urge you to check these regularly as the schedule of the building works is subject to change as it progresses.
